Luxury Elite
Luxury Elite is credited with pioneering late-night lo-fi, the strain of vaporwave that slows 1980s pop and jazz until it emulates recorded programmes on old 4:3 televisions. She has also recorded as 1-800-TONIGHT, night video, television archives and creative zen, and has never worked under a public name.
The run is dense and early: the albums I, II and III all in 2012, then Late Night Delight — a split with Saint Pepsi — plus Rose Quartz and Fantasy in 2013. World Class followed in 2015, Noir in 2016, Prism in 2018 after a two-year gap, and High Society in 2020. She founded the label Fortune 500 in 2013, built specifically for vaporwave releases; it closed in early 2014.
She has worked with Saint Pepsi, Macross 82-99, Death's Dynamic Shroud and Skeleton Lipstick. HKE put the scene's own estimate plainly: "If Vektroid is the 'Queen of Vaporwave', then perhaps luxury elite can be considered its princess."
